The Power of Dowsing: Transforming Energy for Wellness

Dowsing is an ancient practice used over centuries to detect the hidden and the unseen; lost objects, water sources or even buried treasure.  It can be used to heal by detecting imbalances within the physical body or energetic field (aura). This can be done by using charts and protocols and dowsing the answers to specific questions to gain insight into a person’s health and wellbeing.  Dowsing can be used to detect the most beneficial supplements, foods or wellbeing aids to improve wellness.

In short, dowsing is the connection between  the spiritual, the physical and the land.

Over the years I have trained in a number of alternative therapies with a focus on healing and wellbeing.  Initially training in complementary therapies, as time progressed I moved into more spiritual based practices such as Spiritual Healing and then Reiki.  Although I absolutely love Reiki and am now a Reiki teacher, I searched for a healing modality to complement my Reiki but also go deeper with the healing.

It is with this I rediscovered dowsing, also known as radiesthesia. In using the word “rediscovered” dowsing, I have in fact been using dowsing sporadically in my life since the age of eleven, when I first used it to help me find a lost school text book.  I’ve used dowsing at certain times in my life, forgotten about it and then taken it up again.

In the years when I was dowsing, I used it, like most people, to find yes or no answers to questions. But there is so much more to dowsing than just yes and no answers!

Since then, I’ve discovered that it can be used for healing and clearing energies, both in people and in places, remotely and in person.  Remote healing is just as effective as in-person healing.  So how could this be?

Radiesthesia (an alternative, more current word for dowsing) is the practise of tuning into the energy fields of people, places and even objects, energies that are not visible to the naked eye, but can be detected by using tools such as pendulums and dowsing rods to help tap into these vibrational fields.

It is the belief that everything has a vibrational field around it that resonates with energy patterns that the practitioner can detect.  This helps the dowser find variations in the energy field, possible disturbances, blocks, stuck patterns in people and places such as houses, businesses and the land itself.  When finding lost objects or water for example, the dowser is tuning into that object’s energy pattern in order to locate it.

As a wellbeing practitioner I believe that health isn’t just determined by physical factors but is deeply intertwined with energetic, emotional and spiritual dimensions.  With this in mind, restoring the balances in the energy field and removing or neutralising detrimental, unhelpful energies, can be useful in the healing processes of the person, both physically and emotionally.

Healing in this way can also be applied to houses and the land or any space where people live and work.  A person may receive healing but then go into a building or house that contains energetic imbalances or geopathic stress.  This is where the healing of the land and home may assist the healing of the person even further.

Healing the person and the home are intertwined.

In healing the house and the land the same principles are used; dowsing the energetic vibrations or patterns in the home and on the land to pinpoint areas that are detrimental and correcting those imbalances.

House healing works on the energy and atmosphere of a home. It’s based on the belief that homes can absorb and retain the energies of events and emotions that have occurred within their space, both good and bad in the home, on the land, historically or within the fabric of the building.  These energies may have built up over time and can affect the occupants and their energies.

For example, a traumatic event such as arguments, violence or death that’s left its imprint in the fabric of the home. It could be an historical conflict that has left an imprint on the land.  Or it could be a Ouija board session that’s opened a portal to other worldly beings. It’s the bad or detrimental areas in a home that a house healer works to remove.

As a certified house healer and Reiki practitioner, I also work on the occupants, through energy healing, rebalancing the chakras and distance Reiki; it’s an holistic process. This is mostly done remotely (rather like any distant healing).  By doing house and person healing distantly it can be done over a period of time and can be carried out on a property/person anywhere in the world! It also allows individuals to experience its benefits in a personalised and comfortable way. As a Reiki practitioner the concept of remote healing is based on the principle that Reiki healing transcends space and time.

Here are some key points about house and person healing:

  • Energy Cleansing: The process often includes cleansing the home or person of negative energies by dowsing and following a set protocol, thoroughly investigating  key areas. The energy work is done remotely or in person.
  • Techniques: Tuning into the vibrational energies of the home or person and using dowsing techniques to  identify areas of detrimental or negative energetic patterns, transforming them into positive and harmonious ones. Distance Reiki healing is also used.
  • Purpose: The goal is to correct and neutralise detrimental energies both in the person and the home.
  • Holistic Approach: House healing and energy healing are considered an holistic approach, harmonising the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the home including the land and the people within it.

To summarise, dowsing either in person or remotely can be used to detect imbalances and detrimental, unhelpful energies within the home, the land or the person and the healer can use dowsing to neutralise non-beneficial energies, thereby promoting spiritual and physical wellbeing, and facilitating the path to healing.
